Temple at War never rests in working hard to provide one of the most memorable and iconic military events of the re-enactment season.
Traditionally held annually on the second weekend in May, the 2021 event will be held on 18-19 September 2021 at the uniquely atmospheric Cressing Temple Barns, Witham Road, Braintree, Essex CM77 8PD. The decision to move the date of the 2021 show is to address the challenging events of 2020/21 due to COVID 19 and meet the fantastic demand we have received.
Temple at War showcases the very best military re-enactment, fantastic vehicles and ever increasingly popular vintage scene. We first opened our doors in 2015 to an expectant crowd and we are thrilled to say that the high quality event has grown substantially, gaining an outstanding reputation as one of the best Military events to attend. Indeed, September 2021 will be the very first outing for many new attractions and exhibitions within our displays as our groups pull out all the stops to give you the best vintage military experience you could wish for.
Over 900 authentic re-enactors will gather over the September weekend, portraying characters,
scenes and displays from WW1 to present day. From arrival, right through the 2 day event you will be welcomed to join in a truly outstandingly and brilliantly interactive historical experience that you, your family, and your friends can encounter. Once bitten by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Temple at War, it truly is a lifetime event that you will want tmo return to every year and many many do!!
Headlining in September 2021 we are excited to welcome star of ‘Allo, Allo!’ Arthur Bostrum who played the wonderfully playful French Policeman. Star of Bad Lads Army, Dad to all, Corporal Neuokus who cant wait to put you through your enlistment drill and fantastic 1940’s stage singers Fox, Wiggle and Sass to get those feet moving in front of the iconic Temple at War main stage. All our stars will be available for photographic and autograph opportunities.
Marvel at the spectacular military vehicles. 1940s stage and main arena entertainment. Daily explosive full battle displays. Collector opportunities amongst a wide range of Vintage and Militaria trade stands as well as some of the best high quality Food Stalls around, not forgetting the
opportunity to chat with and support our nominated National and Local Military Charities.

Experience the atmospheric Woodland Encampments and the spontaneous and dramatic enactments with interactive characters. Take part in drill practice with a Company of WW1 Soldiers. Deactivate a WW2 Bomb. Watch the tense and thrilling battles throughout the weekend complete with explosive pyrotechnic effects. Join the Home Guard parade or American GI WW2 Drill. Learn about the thousands of items and artifact displays and talk to enthusiasts showcasing their wealth of knowledge on the clothing, collectibles, weapons, vehicles and equipment of the eras exhibited. Temple at War really is a full day out for all the family.

The Temple at War show complex provides superb disabled facilities and a free car park for over 1800 vehicles.
